Ruchi Kaul is a physician, educator, and reproductive healthcare activist.
In July 2020, Ruchi was the third US-based clinician to join Aid Access as a way to open up avenues to access abortions in the pandemic.
She went on to co-found the Abortion Freedom Fund, a non-profit that supports accessible, affordable, evidence-based telehealth abortion care for all. Today, Ruchi continues as a clinician with US Aid Access and volunteers with the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline. Ruchi's abortion access work is featured in the documentary "Plan C," which debuted at Sundance in 2023.
As the founder of Maitri Wellness, one of the first direct primary care practices in New Jersey, Ruchi integrates Western medicine with older traditions, such as Ayurveda and acupuncture, as well as coaching and transgender care, and strives to make that care affordable and accessible. Prior to opening her practice, she taught full spectrum family medicine, including abortions, to family medicine residents.
Ruchi continues her work as a speaker and educator, offering talks for the general public on the history and progress of medication abortions, as well as info sessions for physicians on how to provide medication abortions.
